Watercolor

I purchased a picture at a Goodwill store. It looks like an original watercolor. I have taken it out of the frame and examined it. It does not have any very fine dots indicative of a print. It appears to have some layering. I think the artist name is Magdalena Spasowicz. Without actually taking it for an appraisal, how can I tell it is an original watercolor? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
